THE BODY of a poultry worker believed to be carried by a flash flood was found at the riverbank of Purok 8, Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District around 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified him as Pepito Sarte Ariquin, 44, married, and a resident of Purok Star Apple, Barangay Wines, Baguio District.
Accordingly, around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, Ariquin’s co-worker told police that they were all on board the blue Honda TMX motorcycle driven by Ariquin.
Upon reaching the overflowing creek at Purok Mangosteen, Barangay Wines, Ariquin insisted on crossing the raging current. Unfortunately, he lost control of the motorcycle and the flood washed him away.
Investigation showed Ariquin sustained several bruises and wounds, especially on the head. His remains now lie at Angel Funeral Homes in Calinan.
