Authorities: Pastor Quiboloy still in the country

THE DEPARTMENT of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) remain steadfast in their belief that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his four associates, who are facing child abuse and trafficking charges, have not fled the country.

DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, speaking at a press briefing in Quezon City, acknowledged the possibility of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader being abroad but asserted that current evidence suggests he remains in the Philippines.

Abalos emphasized the shrinking space for fugitives like Quiboloy, stating that law enforcement agencies, the military, and the public are actively working together to apprehend him.

Abalos reiterated the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals facing serious charges are brought to justice.

He appealed directly to Quiboloy, who has a P10-million bounty on his head, to surrender and present his case in court, where he could provide evidence and legal representation to ensure a fair trial.

The DILG secretary also challenged critics of the reward offered for information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy and his associates.

He called on them to use their influence to encourage the accused to surrender and face the legal process.

Abalos concluded by emphasizing that the authorities will not relent in their pursuit of Quiboloy and his associates.

He warned that their hiding places are dwindling and that the full force of the government will be employed to bring them to justice.
