A POLICE officer is accused of abusing an underaged boy in Sitio Pamongot, Barangay Talaguton, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental, at around 7 p.m. on June 18.
As a result, the Don Marcelino Municipal Police Station and the Municipal Social and Welfare Development (MSWD) immediately launched an investigation to determine the veracity of the complaint.
Based on the minor victim’s statement, he went to the 3rd Platoon, 1st Davao Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company (DocPMFC) detachment to seek protection from his father, who was reportedly about to maul him.
But instead of assisting him, the police officer ordered him to stretch his short pants forward while the lights were off. The suspect then poured vinegar with chili (sinamak) on his sex organ, causing him to grimace in pain.
As of this writing, the investigators are still in the process of identifying the involved police officer. “After his identity will be established, then a criminal and administrative case will surely be filed against him,” the Don Marcelino Municipal Police Station said in a statement.
The statement also assured the public against a cover-up since the police station would never tolerate any abuses committed by its personnel. “We condemn this wrongful act, and we assure them that we will do everything to identify the culprit and to file appropriate charges against him,” it added.
