THE CITY Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) will launch its biggest Mutya ng Dabaw 2025 offering larger prices, a brand new theme song, and a new format.
CTOO officer-in-charge Jennifer Romero shared in a press conference that they will bring this year’s Mutya ng Dabaw to the next level in delivering the best pageant show for Araw ng Dabaw.
“Mutya ng Dabaw is a good platform because Mutya ng Dabaw [winners] would be the ambassadors of our city. So, sila ang atoang mouthpiece and ilahang influence would really mean a lot to the entire city and with us in the City Tourism,” Romero said on Feb 22.
Romero hopes the top five winners can help the agency more in tourism-related activities in the future and promote Davao City further for tourists to visit.
Out of the 73 candidates, 20 will officially join the coronation night that will be held at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) gymnasium on Mar 15.
“Last year, we did the top 30 but now top 20 sila so that we can really see who gets to make it to the top five,” she said.
In Mutya ng Dabaw 2025’s format, the candidates begin their journey for the crown with online and walk-in screenings, and callback (Top 20 selection). Interview rounds are conducted on Mar 5 and preliminaries on Mar 9 at SM City Davao.
The grand event is one of Araw ng Dabaw 2025’s major activities that will run from Mar 1 to 16. Activities include Araw ng Dabaw Fair, Dabawenyo Ako walking tours, Konsierto Dabawenyo, Parada Dabawenyo, and many more.
