  • P6-M in illegal drugs seized, 47 arrested in series of operations

 

MORE THAN six million worth of illegal drugs were seized from 47 individuals following the Davao City Police Office’s anti-crime operations from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1, 2025. 

Acting city director Col Hansel M. Marantan said different police stations conducted 31 operations and confiscated 879.332 grams of shabu with a street value of P5,979,457.60 and 66.917 grams of marijuana worth P8,030.04.

Furthermore, police arrested 16 individuals in 16 anti-gambling operations and confiscated P5,189.00 in bet money. 

The DCPO also intensified its efforts to apprehend fugitives, resulting in the arrest of 41 individuals, including nine most wanted persons.

In the crackdown on illegal firearms, DCPO filed charges against seven and seized seven illegal firearms in 16 operations. Additionally, another seven firearms were surrendered under the “Oplan Katok” program.

In total, Marantan said they arrested 111 individuals during the period. 

“These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our officers,” said Marantan. “We will continue to intensify our efforts to rid our city of illegal activities while ensuring that all operations are conducted with respect for human rights and by police operational procedures.”

The DCPO expressed its gratitude to barangay officials, the community, and the local government unit for their continued support. “Let us continue working together to create a sound and safer community for all Davaoenos,” Marantan said.
