A HIGH-LEVEL drug target and his live-in partner were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay San Antonio, Agdao District on Monday.
Alias Koy, 28, a laborer, and his live-in partner, alias Nica, 26, were apprehended by a joint team from the Sasa Police Station, Regional Special Operations Group XI, and the City Intelligence Unit.
Captain Hazel Caballero-Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said Koy was considered a top two city-level target.
The operation, led by PCPT Arniet R. Ico of the Sasa Police Station, stemmed from information provided by a confidential informant on Koy’s illegal drug activities. Undercover police officers purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect.
Following the transaction, authorities searched his residence and recovered additional illegal drugs, a .45 caliber firearm, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.
The seized drugs, with an estimated street value of P188,224.00, were turned over to the Integrated Operations Center for subsequent transfer to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Koy and Nica are now detained at the Sasa Police Station while facing a charge of violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
