‘Waste of money’

  • VP Sara says impeachment meant to cover up admin’s blunders

VICE PRESIDENT Sara Duterte believed the impeachment moves against her are designed to distract the public from the unfulfilled promises of the Marcos administration.

“They can always try to impeach, spend, waste government money just to impeach the vice president,” said VP Duterte.

“If that’s what they want, to waste money and keep covering up the failures and lies of the administration just so the people won’t notice that many of their promises remain unfulfilled,” she added.

“They will keep attacking me. They can try and they’ll see. If I get impeached, then it’s over,” said VP Sara.

On Monday, the impeachment complaint was filed against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte at the House of Representatives in Quezon City on Dec. 2, 2024, citing culpable violation of the constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, and betrayal of public trust, among others.

The complainants include endorser Akbayan Party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña, former peace adviser Teresita Quintos-Deles, Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, former Magdalo Party-list representative Gary Alejano, and families of the drug war victims during the previous administration.

They were accompanied by former senator Leila De Lima, the group spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the Magdalo Party-list also shared a part of the impeachment complaint filed in the House against Duterte on Monday, Dec. 2.

Magdalo is among the 17 complainants in the case.
