A 46-YEAR-OLD man succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head after being attacked by unidentified assailants in Barangay Bago Oshiro, Tugbok District, on Thursday morning, Nov. 28.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon, only identified him as alias Lito.
Tuazon said the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. A resident, an Air Force staff sergeant, heard a gunshot and went to check to see the wounded victim beside a motorcycle.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital but was later transferred to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) where he eventually died.
Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered a .45 caliber cartridge in the area.
The victim’s motorcycle, a sidecar without a license plate bearing the markings “Bote Bakal,” and his Nokia cellphone were also recovered by the police. Tuazon said the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and for now, police are conducting a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
