P1-M drugs seized

  • Hot pursuit ongoing as suspects evade capture at Sirawan checkpoint

AUTHORITIES recovered over P1 million worth of shabu tossed out by two individuals who sped off from Barangay Sirawan checkpoint in Toril District at around 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024.

According to the report, members of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), City Mobile Force Company, Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations, and Task Force Davao flagged down a gray Nissan Navara with plate number LAK 2929 for a routine inspection.

However, police officers noticed suspicious behavior from one of the male passengers. Upon further inspection of the passenger’s sling bag, authorities discovered several large sachets of suspected shabu.

As the officers attempted to apprehend the suspect, the passenger threw the sling bag and the driver accelerated to flee the scene.

The recovered shabu, estimated to be worth P1,014,560, was submitted to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for further analysis. Police are now tracking down the suspects and coordinating with the Land Transportation Office XI to determine the identity of the car owner.
