OCD XI extends assistance to Bicol areas battered by Kristine

THE OFFICE of Civil Defense XI, headed by director Ednar Gempesaw Dayanghirang, sent 5,000 hygiene kits and 319 family kits intended for the Bicolanos heavily affected by severe tropical storm “Kristine.”

OCD XI worked with the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao, Police Regional Office XI, and the Department of Public Works and Highways XI to transport the goods from the OCD-RDRRMC XI warehouse in Buhangin, Davao City to the Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, PAF in Sasa where the C-130 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force was waiting.

Aside from the relief items on board, OCD XI also deployed two of its personnel to help Region V in disaster response and early recovery efforts.

More than 3.3 million were affected by the severe tropical storm Kristine all over the country, with thousands still reeling from the effects of the storm, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development said Friday.
