Meanwhile, 91 participants registered for the Shinsa grading examination, according to organizing member Jesh Juson during the Davao Sportswriters Association forum.

The 6th Philippine National Kendo Tournament aims to showcase the skill and dedication of the competitors competing in different categories.

Categories include Children’s Individuals, Tween’s Individuals, Teen’s Individuals, Men’s Individuals, Women’s Individuals, Men’s Team Event, and Women’s Team Event.

It’s the second time for Davao City to host the tournament, which will be spearheaded by the City Sports Development Division.

The first Philippine National Kendo Tournament hosted by Davao City was at the Rancho Palos Verdes Sports Clubhouse in 2017.

The UKFP is the International Kendo Federation’s (FIK) official Philippine affiliate in promoting and developing Kendo in the Philippines and was originally founded by representatives of various Kendo clubs in the country.
