DCPO prepares to welcome new regional police director

THE DAVAO City Police Office held a command staff meeting in preparation for the visit of the new acting regional director, Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, on Thursday, Oct. 10.

When asked regarding personnel reshuffling, DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said there is currently no information on any changes.

“We also expect that during the command visit, our operations will present updates on peace and order in Davao City,” Tuazon told reporters during the Davao Peace and Security press briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Oct. 9.

“The guidance of our acting regional director is to focus on eight key crimes. His goal is to reduce these issues within the next month, and our station commanders are working hard to follow his instructions,” she said.

“He has emphasized to the station commanders and PNP personnel that their work must be effective, as there will be consequences for underperformance. The regional director expects accountability from the station commanders.”

Additionally, she noted that there should be no visible alcohol at the Davao City Police Office.

“He wants us to focus solely on our duties as public servants and to ensure that our work is prioritized,” she added.

She further said they are focused on the four key directives–hunting down fugitives, illegal drugs, illegal gambling, and loose firearms.

“No changes are planned for these operations,” she said. “These efforts will be intensified, and more operations will be conducted,” she added.
