P1.7-M refurbished passenger entrance to smoothen terminal transactions: DCOTT

THE DAVAO City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) recently opened its P1.7 million rehabilitated passengers’ entrance on Sep. 4, to gear up for the influx of travelers for the holiday season.

In an iSpeak forum on Sept. 17, DCOTT manager Aisa Usop said the entrance’s walk-through and X-ray machines now have better electrical connections, and the roof has been fixed as part of the renovations.

“The roofing was upgraded because there were leaks before, and our electrical connection was also upgraded because we now have two walk-through machines, and we will soon install a baggage X-ray machine,” Usop said.

Usop said Task Force Davao, K-9, and Civil Security Units will be stationed at the passenger terminal entry 24/7.

Mas madali na pud ang pagsulod sa atoang mga pasahero diha sa atoang Ecoland terminal compared to the time that it was in the rehabilitation process,” she said.

She said the 32 installed CCTV cameras are already directly connected to the Public Safety and Security Office.

She stressed that the rehabilitated passenger entrance is a huge benefit for all, providing security and convenience.

“The advantage of this renovation is that it will provide ease of entry to the passengers, especially since we are already at our ‘Ber’ months. So, the passengers can now enter without delays at the terminal. Due also to our x-ray machines, the security will be strictly monitored by Task Force Davao and the police,” she said.

She also reminded the public to only hire porters, recognized by their official uniforms, to carry their belongings. Payment for the porter fees should also be given to the designated ‘Officer-of-the-Day’.
