DSWD XI eyes 1,500 participants for Family Fun Run

THE DEPARTMENT of Social Welfare and Development XI (DSWD) partnered with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the 32nd National Family Week’s Family Fun Run 2024 targeting 1,500 participants on Sept. 28.

During the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Sept.16, DSWD XI regional focal person Arlyn Maldo highlighted that the family fun run aims for Filipino families to strengthen and have ample time to bond together. The event also promotes better family relationships, strengthens communities, and upholds family values.

“This is an avenue also for you to bond with your family, (and) to celebrate with your family through the celebration of the National Family Week,” she said.

Maldo clarified that the Family Fun Run 2024 will contain no road closures held at the Davao City Coastal Road as the route will occupy the jogging lane.

She added that 1,000 participants had been registered for the event with the free registrations to end on September 22. The free registration of the Family Fun Run 2024 can also be availed on their official Family Fun Run 2024 Facebook page.

The Family Fun Run 2024 will be assembled at the Davao Coastal Road parking area, Bago Aplaya at 4:00 am with 2 categories including Family and Individual, and two runs of 3 km and 5 km.

The family fun run event is part of the National Family Week Celebration in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 60 of 1992 declaring the last week of September every year as Family Week.
