THE PUBLIC Safety and Security Office assigned extra warm bodies to public schools to augment the in-house civil security units already stationed there.
PSSO head Angel Sumagaysay said public schools typically have a larger population compared to private institutions, so they needed a more robust security system.
“We have plenty of public schools, and the children, we should really guide them,” Sumagaysay said.
Sumagaysay emphasized the importance of keeping students safe at school not only from criminal elements but most especially from vehicular accidents.
By monitoring vehicles and adopting speed limits, the city can better manage traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents, ensuring a safer environment for students.
Sumagaysay cited several schools as priority areas for security, including Magallanes Elementary School, Santa Ana National High School, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANS), Mabini, Bayabas Toril, Doña Carmen, and Bunawan due to their high student population.
