20,000 law enforcers  to secure kadayawan

OVER 20,000 personnel will be deployed for the 39th Kadayawan Festival, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) said.

PSSO head Angel Sumagsaysay said the office will assign 20,485 personnel for the entire festival, with an average daily deployment of 661. “We have dedicated personnel for each event,” he clarified.

The peak of security will be on Aug. 18, with 4,104 personnel on duty for the Indak-Indak and Pamulak festivities.

Meanwhile, the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) will deploy 486 traffic personnel for all Kadayawan activities, including 118 for the culminating street and floral float parades.

CTTMO head Dionisio Abude said the two events share the same route, requiring similar preparations but with additional personnel.

To accommodate the large crowds, 18 corners, and intersections will be closed during the peak events on Aug. 18.
