DCPO enhances security measures for Kadayawan Festival with bomb awareness seminar

IN PREPARATION for the 39th Kadayawan Festival, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) conducted a comprehensive bomb awareness and identification seminar held on July 24, at its parade grounds along San Pedro Street.

Led by acting city director Col. Hansel Marantan, the seminar aimed to equip police personnel with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and identify various types of explosives, especially at border controls and checkpoints.

“Our commitment to the safety and security of all Davaoeños and visitors during the Kadayawan Festival is unwavering,” said Marantan.

“This seminar is a crucial step in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone,” he added.

The DCPO is also urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or unattended objects to authorities immediately.

“We encourage everyone to be part of our culture of security,” Marantan added. “By working together, we can make this year’s Kadayawan Festival a safe and successful celebration of our city’s rich culture and heritage.”

“Let us work together to keep our event safe and successful. Thank you for your cooperation and vigilance,” he further said.
