JIMYMAH Coching, a dedicated health practitioner with 24 years of experience in specialized colon hydrotherapy, will represent Davao City in the Mrs Universe-Philippines 2024.
During the AFP-PNP press conference on July 10, Coching announced that her advocacy is educating people on preventive healthcare.
The 46-year-old’s commitment to this advocacy is driven by the belief that many lives are lost not to the disease itself, but to ignorance.
“The reason why I accept this opportunity is because of my advocacy” Coching explained.“My advocacy is really on educating people on how to prevent because mainly people nowadays die not because of their sickness but their ignorance.”
For Coching, the Mrs. Universe-Philippines event is an important platform to help her impact the community.
“Through this project and title, I can widen my horizon and touch a lot of people’s lives not only in Davao and Mindanao but all over the Philippines,” she says.
Her focus is on the preventive side of healthcare, she highlights the importance of knowledge and proper education in preventing diseases. “Kasagaran sa mga tao gyud karon nagasakit because lack of knowledge and proper education on how to prevent diseases.”
She believed that people should focus on disease prevention rather than finding a cure because people cannot afford proper hospitalization.
“I always believe also that prevention is really better than cure so why focus on the cure if we can do something to prevent any diseases? Most especially here in the Philippines wherein we don’t have enough money for hospitalization. I always believed that proper education before medication is the best prevention and that’s one of my advocacy.” she said.
Coching was invited to join the pageant three years ago. However, she decided to join 2 weeks ago for this year’s pageant. She plans on starting her advocacy immediately, looking for individuals and organizations that could help her.
The Mrs. Universe Philippines is set to take place on August 24 at the Dusit Hotel Manila at 7 p.m.
