- 19 police station commanders replaced and reassigned

In another shakeup in recent weeks, the Police Regional Office (PRO) XI has enforced a major reshuffle of 19 station commanders under the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), effective July 8, 2024.
PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey confirmed the relief of 19 current station commanders and officers-in-charge of the regional headquarters, including police provincial offices of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, Davao Occidental, and Davao de Oro.
Dela Rey said the move is part of PRO XI chief PBGen. Nicolas Torre III’s prerogative to reposition the officers under his command.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said they have yet to receive the official order from the regional headquarters on the appointment of the new DCPO director.
“As of today, there have been no changes in leadership at the DCPO, and Col. Rolindo Suguilon remains our OIC,” she said.
During Col. Suguilon’s leave, Lt. Col. Jed Clamor, the deputy city director for administration, is acting as OIC.
Col. Lito Patay’s name was floated as Suquilon’s replacement but Tuazon emphasized they could not make any official announcements pending the appointment order.
“Col. Patay is on the list of candidates for DCPO director, but we cannot confirm his appointment as OIC until we receive the official order,” Tuazon said. “Our programs will continue uninterrupted, even with a new leader at the helm.”
The DCPO is still reeling from a major shakedown when 35 of its uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, including its chief Col. Richard Bad-ang, were relieved while the investigation is ongoing on the death of seven individuals in anti-illegal drug operations.
