Senator Go denies plunder,  graft allegations by Trillanes

SENATOR Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go dismissed the allegations of plunder and graft filed by former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV at the Department of Justice.

The complaints are linked to P6.6 billion worth of government projects awarded during the Duterte administration.

In a statement, Go said he has yet to see the verified complaint but maintains these are recycled accusations.

He welcomed the investigation to end the issue, saying, “It’s better to scrutinize these accusations. Was there any irregularity? Was there any transaction disadvantageous to the government? Was there any theft? And are there any linkages to me that say I benefited from any of these transactions? The Commission on Audit (COA) can find out. And, if there is, it is for COA to file the necessary charges.”

Go emphasized that his family had been in business long before he entered public service and asserted that neither he nor his family benefited from his government position.

He challenged anyone to inquire, stating that even his father and half-brother could not approach him to lobby for any government project or contract.

“As a simple provincial man, like former President Duterte, we value our name. Our conscience is clear because, from then until now, we have maintained our integrity,” Go said.

He reiterated that he never interfered with or influenced any government transaction, contract, or bidding. Go added that any use of his name to gain favors from the government should be automatically denied.

Go dismissed the allegations as a “tired tune,” pointing out that they were first made in 2018 and recycled in 2021 without any evidence.

He suggested that Trillanes is raising the issue again as the 2025 elections approach to gain attention.

Go concluded by stating that he will continue to serve the people to the best of his ability and prioritize his mandate to help fellow Filipinos. He believes the truth will eventually prevail.
