Maragusan, DavOr to be part of 2024 Davao Adventure Challenge 

THE DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DOT) XI is now opening Pyalitan and Tagbibinta Falls in Maragusan, Davao de Oro as another Davao Adventure Challenge (DAC) tourism campaign site. 

During the Habi at Kape forum on July 3, Christine Dompor, Davao de Oro provincial tourism officer, said sites are also ready to accept challenges starting July 1. 

“Maragusan will be included under the chasing waterfalls category,” Dompor said. 

Those up for the activity adventures will get to try water dripping, rock planking, and rock balancing from Pyalitan and Tagbibinta Falls.

Among the places introduced were Mount Apo, in Davao del Sur, Mount Hamiguitan, in San Isidro, Davao Oriental, and Mount Dinor in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur for hiking trails; water tubing in the Sibulan River, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, white water rafting in Davao City, skimboarding in Dahican Beach, Mati City, and Giant Clam Sanctuary Tour in Samal Island for water thrills; Samal Island in Davao del Norte, Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental, and Pujada Bay Dive Sites in Mati City for scuba and freediving; and canyoneering in Tagtugonan Falls, Kapalong, Davao del Norte, spelunking in Su’bon Cave, Matanao, Davao del Sur, and Okbot Cave in Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

Those who enjoy heights and flights could try the Ultralight Plane Experience in Mati City, and Sky Adventure Rides in Eden Nature Park, Davao City. 

Dompor added that as first-timers of DAC, the province had already installed safety nets and accessible sites for the upcoming event. 

The DOT XI also collaborated with other local government units, DOT-accredited establishments, tour operators, and guides in curating unique adventure packages catering to different interests and skill levels.
