PROPERTY developer Megaworld formally opened its 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel last Saturday, June 22, within their 31-hectare Westside City township in Paranaque City.
Dubbed the biggest hotel in the Philippines, in terms of total room keys, the two-tower (at 19 stories each) Grand Westside Hotel offers a variety of room types, ranging from Presidential Suite, Superior, Deluxe, Executive Suite, and Junior Suite, which is specially equipped with amenities for PWDs.
“It is truly befitting that it is located in what is known as a center of tourism, leisure, and entertainment in Metro Manila, flanked by integrated resort developments right at the heart of Entertainment City,” said Alliance Global Group, Inc. president Kevin Tan.
He also gave guests a peek into the hotel’s future as a gateway to Megaworld’s LET (Leisure Entertainment Taste) X Integrated Resort Complex, a luxury and lifestyle destination where they are currently creating the “Broadway of Asia”, replete with 4 theaters, with largest in the Grand Opera House with 2,000 seating capacity.
Tan acknowledged the national government’s positive direction for tourism development, stating that the “combination of good infrastructure, hotels, MICE convention centers, entertainment and the unique brand of Filipino service truly makes the Philippines a powerhouse in tourism.”
Guests at the hotel’s inauguration include President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, as keynote speaker, along with House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual, and Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco.
Marcos recognized the hotel as “an impressive addition to the company’s prestigious development projects as well as to Philippine tourism and the economy.” In 2023, the tourism sector contributed 8.6% to the country’s gross domestic product.
“We foresee not just the entry of more tourists but also the generation of more jobs, of new businesses, and greater opportunities. Megaworld is our true partner in national development and a great builder of dreams and sustainable communities,” the President added.
