THE SOCIAL Security System Davao has identified 177 employers with delinquencies in the eight branches of SSS for the Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) program.
During the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM Ecoland on May 13, Dennis Salo, acting senior communications analyst at SSS Davao, said the SSS Mindanao South 1 Division Team conducted 22 RACE campaigns on 177 employers from January to March.
As of the latest data, the agency collected from 65 of the 177 employers. The delinquencies included failure to remit the contribution, failure to report their business, and inaccurate reports of the number of employees. The companies identified are from retail, sales, manufacturing, hotels, construction, restaurants, and others.
Employers are required to comply with their obligations by the Republic Act No. 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018 as violating the SSS law is considered a criminal offense.
“If ma prove or nag violate gyud sila sa balaod pwede sila ma priso. Six years to one day up to twelve years or magbayad og danyos na P5,000 hantod P20,000,” he said.
Calo also added that the RACE campaign plans to be set per month to raise awareness and create an impact for employers and non-delinquent employers.
“So the more man gud nga maka kuan tag information naa tay mas paspas ug mas wider nga information dissemination,”
The SSS branch in Ilustre, Davao City partnered with the SSS Mindanao South 1 Division Team last April 30 to enforce the RACE program in commemoration of Labor Day. 98 employers were reported in one day during their campaign conducted within SSS Mindanao South 1 Division.
The RACE Program is a nationwide campaign that began in 2017 that aims to push the social security of Filipino workers by calling on business establishments and urging the workers to resolve their delinquent contributions.
Republic Act No. 11199, signed by former President Rodrigo Roa Dutererte and approved on February 17, 2019, is an act of rationalizing and expanding the powers and duties of the Social Security Commission to ensure the long-term Viability of SSS.
