FIRST Congressional District Representative Paolo Duterte distributed on Saturday, May 4, relief and cash assistance to fire victims at Purok 35, Maharlika Village in Barangay Ma-a.
The First Congressional District Office recorded that 31 families received food packs, water containers, bottled water, and cash assistance through the PPP program.
Rep. Duterte’s team, represented by the congressman’s son Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, immediately served 200 bowls of hot porridge and will provide packed lunch for the next few days, from Friday, May 3 until Tuesday, May 7.
Barangay Ma-a chieftain Pacito Cañete Jr. thanked Rep. Duterte and Rigo for the support provided to the fire victims of the village currently recuperating from the incident.
Rigo, grateful for the people’s unwavering support of his father and the Duterte family, affirmed their commitment to promptly assisting families affected by unfortunate events.
The Bureau of Fire Protection in Davao (BFP–Davao) reported nine houses were gutted down by a fire at Maharlika Village on Thursday, May 2.
No injuries were reported. The investigators, however, believed that the fire was sparked by electrical overload. The estimated amount of damage is pegged at around P210,000.
