‘Kidnapped’ infant boy reunited with mother

THE TWO-WEEK-OLD infant earlier reported kidnapped was found on the sidewalk near Metro Circle, Bankerohan Public Market around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Major Marvin Hugos, commander of San Pedro Police Station, said teacher Ira Mojado and his partner Jasper Aton saw the baby wrapped in a cloth on Tuesday night. They immediately called the police.

The infant was allegedly taken by a woman at Centennial Park last Feb. 17.

Hugos said the baby was already turned over to his parents.

Speaking in yesterday’s AFP-PNP press briefing held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, said the infant bore no scratches and obvious injuries.

Tuazon said the incident was not a case of kidnapping and reiterated that the city is still safe and secure.
