A WOMAN died after she was trapped in a fire that razed two houses and two establishments along Tinikling Street, Lanzona Subdivision in Matina at 2:12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23.
The Bureau of Fire and Protection has yet to identify the casualty.
In an interview on Friday, Senior Fire Officer 4 Ramil Gillado, spokesperson of Davao City Fire District Station, said the fire started in the house owned by Sheila Pateño Irie.
Firefighters and volunteers responded to the scene and declared a fire-out at 3:06 p.m.
Gillado said an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. He said the victim died from suffocation and heat inhalation.
