NBI asks rape victims to bolster their case vs Coast Guard member
THE NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation-Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-Semro) called on the other rape victims to surface to bolster their case against a Philippine Coast Guard personnel.
Earlier, NBI-Semro head Arcelito Albao first revealed that a victim declined to file a case because she belonged to a prominent family and did not want to drag them into the scandal.
Meanwhile, in a separate interview, head agent Vicente Essex Minguez said they are scheduled to file a second rape case against suspect Khalid Abdullah on May 9. The amended complaint stemmed from the complaint from the second victim, a 23-year-old freelance model.
Albao advised the victims to pursue the case to prevent the suspect from victimizing other women.
The suspects suspect’s modus was to offer a job to freelance models, supposedly as usherettes for an event at the Philippine Coast Guard. He would then bring them to a dark area in Barangay Cabantian and sexually assault them.
Last April 22, 2023, Abdullah was arrested in an entrapment operation led by NBI-Semro.
