THE PHILIPPINE Statistics Authority (PSA) will conduct the July 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 1 beginning on the 8th until the end of the month.
The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide household-based survey conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and the formulation of policies affecting the labor market.
Meanwhile, the Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) aims to: a) gather data on family income, sources of income, family expenditure, and related information affecting income and expenditure levels and patterns in the Philippines; b) determine income distribution, living standards, spending patterns, and the degree of inequality among families; c) provide inputs for the estimation of the country’s poverty threshold and incidence; and d) serve as benchmark information to update the weights used in computing the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
About 9,216 sample households across the Davao Region will be interviewed for the LFS and FIES Visit 1. Around 350 trained Statistical Researchers (SRS) and Team Supervisors (TSS) will conduct the data collection in the provinces of the region.
In line with this activity, PSA Davao Region encourages everyone, especially all sampled households, to support and cooperate in the conduct of the 2025 July LFS and FIES Visit 1. The active participation of household respondents in providing truthful, complete, and accurate information to the interviewers is vital to the success of this undertaking. Rest assured that all individual data provided by respondents shall be kept strictly confidential in accordance to Section 26 of Republic Act 10625.
