CDRRMO: We keep upgrading

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) will need to enhance its communication and mobility as part of the assessment of the recently conducted shakeout drill last July 26.

“We really need to improve our communications. We can even observe during actual incidents that we really need to enhance our communications. There are times that our communications would bar down,” CDRRMO Chief Alfredo Baloran told reporters after the flag ceremony yesterday.

“Mobility is another thing,” he added.

According to Baloran, they will continue to upgrade their resources.

“The office wouldn’t cease in upgrading our resources especially because some of our resources are deteriorating. Also, we have to acquire more sophisticated equipment,” he added.

In the recent shakeout drill, Baloran said he can give it “a grade of 7 to 8 out of 10.”

“The performance of the shakeout drill was impressive, informative and successful. But of course, we have to give a room for improvement,” he said.

According to Baloran, the participation of the establishment was notable.

“The departments from local to national government, as well as the Department of Education and other private institutions were very participative,” he said.

In the third Citywide Shake-Out Drill last Friday, government offices and private sector counterparts gathered at the Incident Command Post (ICP) at the Crocodile Park as members of the response cluster.

Baloran challenged the concerned sectors to continue to improve their performance every year.
