THE UNIVERSAL Islamic Center (UIC) will hold the 9th Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo (PHTTE) on May 23-25 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang.
Marilou Ampuan, PHTTE vice president for Mindanao, expects from 3,000 to 5,000 participants to attend the event, which will have three major components.
The first is the three-day exhibit to showcase international, national, and local Halal-certified products. The second would include plenary sessions, business-to-business, and business-to-consumer meetings.
For the plenary sessions, the organizer invited different speakers to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the industry. Finally, she said the event will also feature cooking demonstrations to help entrepreneurs prepare Halal-ready food.
She said industry players from the BIMP-EAGA have committed to participate in the event, which carries the theme, “Global Halal Market: Tourism, Trade, and Investment Opportunities.”
