DCPO confiscates P2-M in illegal drugs

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) seized more than P2 million worth of shabu during a week-long anti-illegal drug operation from April 13 to April 19.

Under the command of acting city director Col. Hansel Marantan, the Davao City Police Office remains committed to its mission of protecting the city and its residents.

Throughout the week, the DCPO conducted 20 anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 28 individuals involved in drug-related activities. A total of 324.4400 grams of shabu were confiscated, with a standard drug price value of P2,206,192.

In addition to its efforts against illegal drugs, the DCPO also filed cases against 10 suspects and confiscated P2,172 bet money in seven anti-gambling operations.

The DCPO also conducted 60 operations to capture fugitives, leading to the arrest of 60 people, including 14 most wanted persons and 46 others.

Through 15 operations targeting loose firearms, the DCPO apprehended three individuals and seized five unlicensed guns.

Additionally, seven other firearms were surrendered, one was recovered, and three were turned in for safekeeping under the Oplan Katok initiative.

Three cases were filed in court related to these firearms.

In total, the Davao City Police Office arrested 101 individuals.

The DCPO thanked the community and local government unit for their continued support.

“Let us continue working together for a safer and sounder community,” said Marantan.
