79 new soldiers begin intensive Infantry training at 10th ID

THE 10TH Infantry (Agila) Division welcomed 79 new enlistees as they commenced their Infantry Orientation Training (INFOT) Class 01-2025 on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the 10th Division Training School, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., in Mawab, Davao de Oro.

The enlistees recently completed a rigorous four-month basic military training under the Candidate Soldier Course at the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Philippine Army, in Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac.  They now embark on a seven-week specialization program.

The training is designed to equip them with essential tactical skills and operational field expertise, aligning with the Philippine Army’s commitment to developing a more capable and professional fighting force.

Colonel Merrill Sumalinog, assistant chief of staff for training and education (OG8), delivered a message underscoring the critical role of continuous training in preparing soldiers for future challenges.

“This infantry orientation training is a transformative journey that prepares you to meet the complex challenges of modern warfare. You are now part of a legacy that demands courage, integrity, and excellence in every mission,” Sumalinog emphasized to the incoming class.

Moreover, the training marks a crucial step in the military careers of these new soldiers as they prepare to contribute to the security and defense efforts of the nation, particularly under their area of responsibility.
