SECURITY forces and key government agencies gathered on Sept. 16, 2026, to evaluate the security landscape following the recent Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections, declaring the polls a collective success.

Election peace and security assessment was held at the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, spearheaded by 6ID acting division commander and Joint Task Force Central head BGEN Ricky P. Bunayog, alongside Armed Forces Peace and Development Office (AFPPDO) chief COL Alvin G. Iyog.

The high-level meeting brought together officials from the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine National Police (PNP), Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), NTF-ELCAC, and the Joint Peace and Security Team (JPST).

Participants shared critical insights, operational observations, and lessons learned from the electoral period.

The discussions focused heavily on refining inter-agency coordination and optimizing security frameworks for future electoral exercises in the region.

Bunayog expressed profound gratitude to the entire security apparatus, local government units, and partner agencies for their synchronized efforts in securing communities and upholding public safety throughout the voting period.

He lauded the relentless dedication of frontline personnel, noting that their prompt responsiveness, high preparedness, and seamless communication prevented security disruptions and safeguarded the electorate’s right to vote.

“The successful conduct of the elections reflected what agencies can achieve when they work together with a shared commitment to peace, public safety, and the democratic process,” Bunayog stated.

As Central and South-Central Mindanao transition into the post-election phase, the 6ID and JTF Central assured the public of their steadfast commitment to remaining professional, apolitical, and responsive.

Security forces vowed to sustain monitoring efforts, address emerging security concerns, and leverage the lessons of the recent polls to fortify community protection across the region.
