P13.3-M in assistance handed out to disaster-hit LGUs

THE city government, through the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), handed out P13.3 million of its Quick Response Fund to 27 local government units in the country that were hit with calamities.

Alfredo Baloran, CDRRMO chief who distributed the financial assistance after the city council approved it last month, said the recipients were thankful to the city government as they vowed to ensure that the help is spent prudently.

“Ang tabang nga gihatag sa Davao City Government to the municipalities or provinces kay para sa ilahang mga constituents,” Baloran said as a municipality receives P300,000, P500,000 for a city and P1 million for a province.

Those that received the assistance were the provinces of Maguindanao, Albay, Aklan, Cavite; the cities of Cotabato, Calbayog, Zamboanga, San Pedro (Laguna), Biñan (Laguna); and the municipalities of Parang (Maguindanao), Upi (Maguindanao), Sebaste (Antique), Hilongos (Leyte), Mogpog (Marinduque), Dao (Capiz), Amulung (Cagayan), and Pigcawayan (North Cotabato)— areas that were all hit by Typhoon Paeng collectively received P8,900,000.
