HEALTH OFFICIAL SAYS: Report personnel asking for VaxCert certificate payment

THE CITY COVID-19 Task Force reminded that the VaxCert PH issuance remains free.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, the task force spokesperson, issued this statement during the COVID-19 Alert program on Nov. 30, when a netizen reported that she/he was asked P380 as payment for the VaxCert PH as the system was supposedly down.

Dili gyud ni sya mao ang practice. Wala’y bayad ang tanang serbisyo ginahatag sa Davao City, especially in this case (This is not really the practice. All services are provided free of charge in Davao City, especially in this case),” she said.

She advised the public that if they experience a similar incident, they should get the name of the person asking for payment, the VaxCert PH hub location, and report it immediately to the hotline.

Schlosser reiterated, “Dili gyud ni sakto. Dili dapat magpabayad kay libre tanang serbisyo gyud (This is not right at all. You shouldn’t have to pay because all the services are really free).”

She said that Davaoeños can go to the nearest VaxCert PH hub or to the main hub, which is the Teen Center Facility near People’s Park.

VaxCert PH issuance are are available in hubs located in the city’s malls, including Abreeza, Gaisano Mall of Davao, and SM City Davao, among others.

Na bother gyud ko. It saddens me naay tao mag take advantage sa ubang tao kay tungod ang uban need nila ma-rush ang VaxCert PH for travel (I’m really bothered. It saddens us that there are people who take advantage of other people because others need to rush the VaxCert PH for travel),” the city health official said.

She urged Davaoeños to report abusive VaxCert PH personnel so they can be penalized and stop the illegal payment collection.

It can be recalled that the city government received an award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the success of its VaxCert PH lane initiative. Davao City was the first to implement it in Mindanao.

VaxCert PH hubs will issue vaccination certificates for free.

Individuals will just have to present their vaccination cards. If their vaccination information has not yet been encoded, the hub will process the request and send it to Manila, and their vaccination certificates will be emailed to them.
