A TOTAL of P50 million worth of Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) was given to 5,000 beneficiaries in North Cotabato.
The distribution of the financial assistance was highlighted during the opening of the Kalivungan Festival as part of the 110th Founding Anniversary of North Cotabato province, held at the Capitol Compound, Amas Kidapawan City on Aug. 26.
During the opening ceremony, Gov. Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza in her speech urged leaders of the various local government units to search for families, farmers, and fishermen who had never before received financial aid from the government to identify them as the initial recipients of the P50 million in presidential support.
“If there is financial assistance from the government, I want to make sure many can access it, not only a few,” Mendoza said.
The P10,000 was given to each of the first 5,000 beneficiaries affected by the El Niño phenomenon, particularly in the agriculture and fisheries sector.
Among the LGU beneficiaries were Pigcawayan, Libungan, Alamada, Aleosan, Kabacan, M’lang, Tulunan, Carmen, Banisilan, Matalam, Magpet, President Roxas, Antipas, Arakan, Makilala, and Kidapawan City.
