DAVAO City has remained a low-risk area in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Based on the barangay classification matrix, between April 11 and 16, no barangay was placed under critical or high risk, although one barangay was placed under moderate, and only four barangays were placed on a low-risk classification as these were 2-A, Cabantian, Matina Pangi, and Tugbok Proper.
The city government has urged the residents to continue following the minimum health standards and get vaccinated.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases extended the Alert Level 1 classification until the middle of the month.
However, the city government reiterated that wearing of facemasks in public places is still in place except when eating, participating in sports and similar events where the venues have adequate ventilation.
Under the city ordinance, those found removing their facemasks would be fined P500 for the first offense.
