FIVE MORE barangays in Davao City were declared drug-free in a resolution on Aug. 17 after careful evaluation by the regional oversight committee.
PDEA XI spokesperson Nephi Noli Dimaandal, identified the Barangays of Angalan, Callawa, Daliaon Plantation, 28-C and Brgy. 35-D of Davao City.
This brings the total to 102 drug-free barangays in Davao City.
Meanwhile, the Regional Oversight Committee Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) XI also cleared barangays Batulan and Sugal of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental and Barangay Datu Abdul Dadia of Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
The committee issued a resolution after the barangays satisfactorily complied with the required documents for drug-cleared barangays set by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 4, Series of 2021, Dimaandal said.
The committee is chaired by Director III Naravy, Regional Director, PDEA Regional Office XI together with its member from the Department of Interior and Local Government as Vice-Chairperson, Department of Health, Police Regional Office XI, and representatives from different local government units.
The group members convened last Aug. 17 at PDEA Regional Office XI Conference Room, Camp Capt. Domingo E Leonor, San Pedro Street.
He said a total of 33 barangays in the Davao Region were declared by the committee through resolutions with no presence of drug personalities.
Also, twenty Barangays in Davao Region were verified as Drug-Free Barangay while 96 Barangays in Davao Occidental retained their drug-cleared status.
The chief of police of the respective city and municipal police stations, barangay anti-drug abuse council members and other stakeholders of the respective barangays were also present during the activity.
