FORTY-FIVE teams comprising 360 participants will join the Inter-Barangay MLBB Tournament during the Duaw Davao Festival 2024.
According to eSports consultant Krizzy Daugdaug, the tournament is free and is exclusive to Davao residents with each player representing their respective barangays.
“We are actually expecting roughly 1,024 teams if in case ang 182 barangays will submit at least 5 [teams]. But given sa time nato, most likely we are expecting a hundred to 200 teams na mag participate,” she said during the iSpeak Media Forum on May 30.
The Inter-Barangay MLBB Tournament for June 30 will have a prize pool of P150,000 for the winners of the tournament. Winners will also receive trophies and medals.
Daugdaug said players must submit requirements such as valid school IDs, barangay certifications, and parents’ consent. Players must be at least 15 years and older.
She added the eSports event will help promote the skills of local players and provide a platform for them to compete in bigger tournaments.
“Local and grassroots players here in Davao City po kay para puhon if in case naay national tournament kung kinsa man na mag champion we’ll endorse them to represent Davao City po,” she said.
