338,499 relief packs already distributed

Nearly 400,000 relief aids were distributed to families affected by the impact of COVID-19.

As of Thursday, Mayor Sara Duterte said that 338,499 relief goods have been delivered already to almost all barangays in the city under the supervision of the City Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

She said they are almost finished with the first round of distribution of relief packs since their aim is to give relief aid to all 350,000 families in 182 barangays in the city.

“We are almost done with the first round, as we are nearing to hit our target numbers,” she said, adding that the distribution has resumed on Saturday, April 11.

The second round of relief goods distribution will also take place next week.

With this, the city government demanded the repacking team for round-the-clock shifts and they will also continue to work during holidays.

“This has been part of their service. And we really need to catch up, so there will be no families who will be left out,” she said.

Additional trucks have also been provided to quickly transport goods to the barangays.
