AROUND THREE Hundred participants have registered to join the DEVCON Mindanao Summit 2024 on June 29 to 30 at SM Lanang SMX Convention Center.
During the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM Ecoland on June 10, according to Peng Sumarago of DEVCON Davao Chapter, they expect 800 to 1,000 participants and walk-ins for the event. 15 exhibitors (sponsors and partners), and 40 speakers for breakout sessions and plenary are also to be expected.
Mariza Ocoy, DevCon vice president for community engagements, said they have invited 10 more or less guests from the US and other countries.
“Most of them are CEOs from those companies. So mga sponsors din yung iba so they’re coming here sa summit,” Ocoy said.
DevCon will also invite speakers from Europe, particularly in Germany, as well as big names in Mindanao.
Sumarago highlighted the summit’s goal of helping Mindanao’s businesses understand the importance of tech and how it can apply to different industries regardless of the type of industry.
“Because tech is no longer for tech alone. Tech is for every industry and that’s the main issue that we want everybody to understand,” Sumarago said.
DevCon Mindanao Summit 2024, in collaboration with the organization’s chapters in Iligan, Davao, and Cagayan De Oro, will present innovations in generative AI, data engineering, and robotics.
