ACT-CIS inaugurates Davao office

THE ANTI-CRIME and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Party-list opened its newly relocated office at Roxas Avenue on Sept. 2. 

ACT-CIS Rep. and former social welfare secretary Erwin Tulfo graced the ribbon-cutting ceremony together with his sister, former Department of Tourism secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo, Department of Labor and Employment XI regional director Randolf Pensoy, and Department of Social Welfare and Development XI regional director Vanessa Goc-ong. 

Tulfo said the office, under the leadership of ACT-CIS Director Frederick Alvarez, will continuously cater to the needs of Mindanaoans, especially when it comes to medical and educational assistance, labor disputes, and other social services, in collaboration with the DSWD and DOLE. 

“We are here to let everybody know that Davaoeños, not only Davao, but the whole Mindanao, that we are here, we can cater to the needs of our people here, ‘yun po kasi palagi ang nilalapit ng mga tao, either labor problems or social services,” Tulfo said. 

Tulfo said DOLE will help them assist in labor compensation, disputes and problems, and DSWD will further help them with burial,  and medical assistance, implement stakeholders’ responsibility, as well as delivery of social services.

The ACT-CIS Partylist office already had its operations in Isabela and Quezon City and plans to open new offices in Davao Oriental and Cebu next year. 

The office is also open for police assistance and financial assistance with the help of the Southern Philippines Medical Center. 

The ACT-CIS office will begin its operations on Sept. 4 and is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.
