THE VISIT of Jinjiang Senior Adviser marks the deeper cooperation between their government and Davao City, including signing the framework agreement for Economic, Trade and Business development and facilitating the resumption of Jinjiang-Davao Flights.
Senior Adviser of the Jinjiang Municipal Government Zhang Wenxian had a courtesy visit to Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte on Feb. 28, further strengthening the relationship between Davao City and Jinjiang City.
Also present during the Courtesy Call is the Southeast Asia head of Xiamen Airlines, signalling their intent to resume the Davao-Jinjiang direct flight.
The courtesy call was followed by signing agreements, including the Framework Agreement between Davao City and Jinjiang City for Economic, Trade and Business Development signed by Mayor Duterte and Senior Adviser Zhang, Memorandum of Collaborating and Facilitating the Resumption of Jinjiang-Davao Flight between Xiamen Airlines.
Jinjiang’s 38-man delegation was composed of government officials and high-ranking business executives. Among the companies present are Anta and Panpan, which expressed interest in doing business in Davao City.
In his message, Mayor Duterte expressed his appreciation of the visit of the Jinjiang delegation as he said that Davao City is open to any activity that will benefit its people.
During his visit to Jinjiang in 2019, Duterte envisioned having companies like Anta and Panpan to do business in Davao to open employment opportunities in Davao. He also said that the local government does its best to provide a conducive business environment for all firms and make doing business easier and more convenient.
Zhang Wenxian, in response, said that he brought these businesses to Davao City to get them acquainted with Davao and eventually consider doing business here.
In his welcome message, Councilor Javi Campos of the Davao City council committee on international relations, said the visit of Zhang Wenxian is a manifestation of the strengthening of the sister city relationship between Davao and Jinjiang and hopes that this will open more opportunities for partnerships and collaborations.
Aside from Campos, also present to represent the City Government of Davao are city information officer Harvey Lanticse and DCIPC-OIC April Marie Dayap.
