No more RT-PCR test results  for incoming passengers | Sara

THE CITY government is removing the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result requirement for incoming passengers starting Tuesday midnight.

“We are coming up an executive order lifting that requirement. Mogawas ang executive order anytime karong adlawa ilaha lang gi-finalize ang mga detalye,” Mayor Sara Duterte said over Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday.

The mayor said no no one among those entering the city either by sea, land and air, is required to submit an RT-PCR test result or any other documents, except those that will be required by security forces in relation to the security of the city.

The city government had required a negative RT-PCR test results taken 72 hours before an incoming airline passenger entered the city in the hope of controlling the spread of COVID-19.

But the reduction in the daily active COVID-19 cases, which the mayor attributed to the vaccination program, prompted her to issue the executive order as part of reviving the economy of the city.

The mayor, however, warned the public not to be complacent and must continue to follow the minimum health standards to ensure that the virus is eliminated.
