Thirty-one wanted persons were arrested during the simultaneous Oplan Kalinaw operation in the city on Thursday.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Col. Alexander said the operations resulted in the background check and profiling of 1,189 residents, including persons without any valid identification card.
Tagum said all the arrested fugitives were arrested based on the warrant of arrest issued by the court. Most of those arrested are involved in illegal drugs.
They were identified as Helno Villegas Navarro, Israel Imboy Tuto, Jeremiah Kevin Ibañez Bruce, Fedel Cobrado Marchan, Ariel Upano Carnise, Joseph Masbang Tarranze, Jennifer Lagon Lada, John Paul Macabudbud Polistico, Edwin Abadilla Corcuera, Edlil Lesaca Pregon, Ely Reymon Osorio, and Regine Plando Sala.
Those arrested for serious crimes include Elmon Buned Maing (murder), Vergincita Uson Tabaque (murder), Marjan Intos Jimlani (murder), Rudy Balad-on Devibar (homicide), Rene Oclarit Cenita (homicide), Arvin Boquilon Espina (homicide), Albryan Cudo Cortez (homicide), Marvin Tan Pag-ong (attempted murder), Louie Vincent Dagame (rape), and Danilo Flores Burlat (theft).
Other arrested include Rolando Galagate Gahum (child abuse), John Owe Lopez (child abuse), Pandian Eban Agustin (child abuse), Bernol Camanse Caballes (acts of lasciviousness), Alejandro Kilingan Tugahan (acts of lasciviousness), Jeric Vesabilla (acts of lasciviousness), Daniel Boso Boso Pios (cyberlibel), Paulino Antequina Antiga (mining act), and Robby Culardo Arino (social security act).
The operations were conducted in the police areas of Sta. Ana (Sitio Bakal, Barangay Leon Garcia, Agdao District), San Pedro (Purok 9, Buli Street, Brgy 76-A, Bucana, Talomo District), Talomo (Km 5, Guadalupe Village, Brgy. Matina Crossing, Talomo District) Sasa (Km. 12, PDRHAI, Brgy Sasa, Buhangin District), Buhangin (Purok 11, Sitio Tinago, Brgy. Tigatto, Buhangin District), Bunawan (Tambungon, Brgy. Lasang, Bunawan District), Paquibato (Purok Narra, Brgy. Paquibato Proper, Paquibato District), Toril (Purok 7, Saypon, Brgy. Crossing Bayabas, Toril District), Tugbok (Purok 6-B1, Relocation, Brgy. Los Amigos, Tugbok District), Calinan (Purok 10, Kabisig, Brgy. Calinan Proper, Calinan District), Baguio (Purok Mapailubon, Sitio Maligatong, Brgy. Tawan-tawan, Baguio District) and Marilog (San Roque, Brgy. Tamugan, Marilog District).
Tagum said a total of 627 residents also availed of the free medical/dental check-up, supplemental food feeding and 381 persons received free medicines and vitamins.
The DCPO operation aided by Task Force Davao, Philippine Coast Guard, Regional Mobile Unit, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Bureau of Fire and Protection, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Regional Intelligence Unit, 44th Special Action Company, Rehabilitation Center, and City Health Office.
