SOME 2,000 to 2,500 participants, including school children from kindergarten to grade 10, are expected to partake in the Assumption College of Davao’s (ACD) Family Fun Run on Mar 2.
Compared to the previous fun run events, this year’s event will be open to the public who can choose between 3K, 5K, and 7K with routes going to Honda Cars, Inc., Toyota Davao City, Inc. Lanang, and the Grand Regal Hotel & Casino.
Organizer Mae Sanchez highlighted that this is a fundraising event to fund an interactive school playground.
“We find that if the playground is more appealing and more enjoyable with lots of updated swings and slides they will be encouraged to socialize. So, that’s why we want to make this fun run a significant one by leaving a legacy to our future generations, to the next school years to come,” Sanchez said during the PEP Talks on Feb 7.
Sanchez also said the playground will be a progressive project as it can be developed through annual fun runs in collaboration with the next alumni batches.
Alumni representative Charllote Eltagonde said that nurses from the Basic Education unit will be present during the event to ensure the safety of the runners.
Eltagonde added that they have collaborated with KinetixSports to facilitate the fun run with marshalls and ambulances provided during the event.
Registration fees will cost P500 for individuals. Promos include a family of 3 for P1,500 and a Buddy Promo 4+1 package for P2,000.
Participants may also register online by scanning the QR code on the official Assumption College of Davao – BED Elementary & Junior High School Facebook page. ACD Family Fun Run is in collaboration with ACD Parents Teachers Association Elementary & Junior High School and ACD Alumni Batch 2000.
