MORE THAN P500,000 worth of marijuana was confiscated from a regional-level target while a 17 17-year-old was rescued following a police operation in Bolton Extension, Barangay 40-D, around 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified them only as Allen, 18, single, a resident of Sandawa, Barangay 40-D, and the underaged out-of-school youth, a resident of Bucana, Barangay 76-A.
Initial investigation disclosed that a police undercover purchased two sachets of shabu in exchange for P6,000 buy-bust money from the two suspects. During the subsequent search, the two yielded 37 sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops wrapped with white cellophane.
The seized items have an estimated standard price of P 586,680.
The suspects were endorsed to the San Pedro Police Station while the rescued minor was handed over to the Women and Children’s Police Desk.
Meanwhile, the confiscated drugs are under the custody of the Davao City Forensics Unit in Ecoland, Davao City, for laboratory examination.
The suspects face a case for violating sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
