A DAVAO City police auxiliary and a signage maker were arrested after yielding shabu while passing through the Task Force Davao checkpoint in Barangay Licanan, Lasang, on Monday, July 17, around 7:50 a.m.
Major Robel Saavedra, commander of Bunawan Police Station, identified him as Danilo Ceballos Ramirez Jr., 45, single, and a resident of Country Village, Executive Homes, Cabantian, Buhangin District.
Initial investigation showed that Ramirez was arrested during an inspection at the bus/ van lane area. Seized from him was a sachet of shabu weighing 0.11 grams with an estimated dangerous drug Board (DDB) value of P1,760.
An hour later, Ronald Molina Te, 35, a signage maker and Purok Pag-Asa, Buhangin resident, was also arrested when shabu worth more than P10,000 was seized from him.
According to the report, he was arrested during an inspection at the light vehicle inspection area, and authorities found four sachets of shabu weighing 0.65 grams with an estimated street value of P10,400.
For now, the suspects are in the custody of the Bunawan Police Station as they face a case for violating Sec 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
