THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) said that the new 19 station commanders officially assumed Tuesday in a turnover ceremony held at its headquarters.

DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that the ceremony was conducted around 1:40 pm and presided over by Col. Roel Flores, chief of the regional staff.

Here’s the list of the newly appointed station commanders and the officers they are replacing:

This reshuffle follows the recent appointment of Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III as PRO XI director.

When asked about the reason for the relief, PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey explained that the decision was part of the regional police director’s prerogative to reposition officers for improved service.

She emphasized that the move was not politically motivated.

While Torre initially stated he was not inclined towards immediate personnel changes, he emphasized the need to assess and boost morale within the force after the controversial removal of 35 PNP personnel in May, including former Davao City Police Director Col. Richard Bad-ang.

The shakeup is intended to improve police service and maintain peace and order in the region.
