THE POLICE Regional Office XI announced a large-scale deployment of personnel as it ramped up security measures for the opening of classes in public schools across Davao Region beginning Monday, June 16.

For the Balik Eskwela, for the whole Davao region, more than 1,500 PNP personnel ang i-deploy,” said Major Catherine Dela Rey during the AFP-PNP Press Corps forum at The Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday, June 11.

In line with this, law enforcers will set up police assistance desks in strategic areas for more visibility and also assist students, parents, and even teachers.

“Naa tay gipangbutang nga police assistance desk just in case naay concern ang mga estudyante ug mga maestra diha sa pagbalik sa eskwelahan,” Dela Rey added.

Aside from school, security efforts extend beyond schools as police officers were directed to cover vital installations like seaports, airports, and transport terminals as well.

Major Ruben Gadut, the 10th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office chief, said they will only play a support role to the police in securing schoolgoers.
